Winners of DIC Trophy awarded at Rourkela Steel Plant

In an function organised at Manthan Conference Hall of DIC Secretariat of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant, Mr. Atanu Bhowmick, Director In-Charge presented the awards to the winners of Director Incharge Trophy for the year 2022-23. Present on the occasion were Mr. P K Sahoo, ED (Projects), Mr. Somnath Tripathy, ED(MM), Mr. Debabrata Dutta, CGM Incharge (Services) and many other CGMs and Senior Officers of RSP.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Bhowmick congratulated the award winners and encouraged all to participate more often in such competitions for upgradation of knowledge as well as for contributing to the growth of the Plant and the Company.  The team comprising Mr. M.P. Mishra, Manager (New Plate Mill), Mr. S.Saurabh, Manager (New Plate Mill) and Mr. Deepak K, Manager (New Plate Mill) emerged as the winners of the competition. The team  received a cash award of Rs. 15,000/- and a Trophy.

   The second position holders were Ms. R.Murmu, Manager (HSM-2), Ms. T Parida, Senior Manager (Coke Oven) and Ms. J. Rautia, Manager (New Plate Mill).The team  received a cash award of Rs. 10,000/- and a  Trophy. The third prize was bagged by Mr. A. Agarwal, Manager (HSM-2), Mr. Deepak Garg, Manager (Water Management) and Mr. B.K. Giri, Manager (R& C Lab). The team  received a cash award of Rs. 5,000/- and a Trophy. In all 9 teams from different departments had participated in the event. The theme of the competition was ‘Reducing Carbon footprint in SAIL-A Way Forward’. 

At the Outset, Mr. Srimant Kumar Mallick, GM (Tech) welcomed the gathering while Mr. K K Jaiswal, AGM (HRD) coordinated the prize distribution session. It is worth mentioning here that, the DIC Trophy for Young Managers has been introduced by MTI, Ranchi in 2020 in the five Integrated Steel Plants. The competition was held at HRD Centre of Rourkela Steel Plant.
