Contract workers felicitated at CPP- I Department of SAIL, RSP

15 Contract workers engaged in Captive Power Plant – I  of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) were felicitated at a function organized in the Department . Ms. Asha S Kartha, GM  In-charge (Safety) presided over the function. Present on the occasion were Mr. N C Parida, GM (CPP-I), Mr. S L Das, GM In-charge (CPP-I), Mr. S K Mehrotra, GM (Personnel), Mr. B V Dash, GM (CPP-I) and Mr. J Singh, GM (CPP-I). The dignitaries presented token gifts to the contract workers.Speaking on the occasion Ms. Kartha emphasized upon the Zero Harm target and urged all to implement best safety practices and develop a safe work culture in the plant.

The Contract workers were felicitated for playing significant role in carrying out mechanical activities like Gas Line Blanking / De-Blanking jobs, Boilers pressure part checking, maintenance, turbo blowers filter cleaning, Generator coolers tube cleaning and electrical activities like electrical panel wiring and overhauling of different motors and actuators, illuminations etc.Notably, CPP-I is a key Department of RSP which generates category – 1 critical electrical power and also provides cold blast air to Blast Furnaces. It is equipped with 16 Boilers, 5 Turbo Alternators, 8 Turbo Blowers, PBS, CDCP & BPTG, TRTG, CHP, MP Boilers whose operations and maintenance are very vital.
