Awareness event on Ragi millet by ESI Model Hospital, Rourkela

Finger Millet which is al so known as Ragi is a strong super food. Hence Central as well as State government have organized many events to promote different foods made of Millet across the country to aware citizen. Further this year i.e. 2023 is also declared as International year of Millet. Accordingly both central and state government departments organizing various events to mark the occasion. In continuation to this activity, ESI Hospital at Rourkela has organized an event in Rourkela.

One of the pioneer Public Health Service Providers, ESI Model Hospital has organized an event by displaying different gamut of foods made froom Ragi in ESI Model Hospital today. Dr. Jayanti Behera, Medical Superintendent of the hospital, Mr.Sanjeev Kumar, Dy. Director of ESI, Hospital, Dr. Ajay Kumar Rout, CMO, Ayurveda, ESI Hospital and Akrur Martha, Yoga Instructor are joined this event. On this occasion how Millet can be used in our daily food habit and the nutritional value of Millet in general is elaborated by Dr. Jayanti Behera. Dr. Ajay Rout vividly discussed about the nutritional value of various Millet products. He advised the patient and other visitors to the hospital to uses these to get maximum health benefits. He also briefed how it will become economical in comparison to other foods. Sanjeev Kumar discussed about valuable input on Ragi prepared products and thanked everyone for attending the event. Various Millet products like Malpua, a delicious sweet made of Ragi, Chakuli a crunchy breakfast food, Ragi Ladu and Ragi Puddings are displayed and tested by the peoples present on the occasion. Among others Bismita Patel, Asst. Nursing Superintendent, Prasanta Sethy, Pharmacist, Ayurveda of ESI Hospital are present on this occasion. This awareness program was welcomed by all participants and praised the initiative taken by ESI Hospital.
