International Nurses Day observed at Ispat General Hospital of RSP

International Nurses Day was observes at Ispat General Hospital of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant on 12th May. Dr. B K Hota, ED (M&HS) presided over the function. Present on the occasion were Dr. N P Sahoo, CMO, Dr. L K Biswal, CMO, Dr. P K Mohapatra, CMO, Dr. Jayanta Acharya, CMO, other Senior Doctors, nurses and staff of IGH.  The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and paying floral tributes by the dignitaries at the portrait of Florence Nightingale the mother of nursing fraternity.

Speaking on the occasion Dr. Hota highlighted the importance of nursing profession in the health care system which was widely acknowledged during the Covid pandemic where the nursing staff proved themselves of their vocation. He emphasised upon the need of selfless service and urged all to emulate the ideals of Florence Nightingale in carrying on the good work with same zeal and commitment towards service to mankind.  

Mrs. Kuntala Saha, Advisor (Trained Nurses Association of India, IGH Chapter) unfolded this year’s theme, “Our Nurses our Future”.

This was followed by mesmerising cultural programme presented by the nursing fraternity of IGH.

At the outset Dr. Indira Mishra, welcomed the gathering. Mrs. Anita Ray, Secretary (TNAI, IGH Chapter) presented the annual report. Mrs. Meera Pati, President (TNAI, IGH Chapter) proposed a formal vote of thanks. Mrs. Godhuli Behera was the master of ceremony.
